Anwar Raslan convicted of crimes against humanity for Syria war, gets life in prison


Anwar Raslan, 58, was convicted on charges including murder, grievous bodily harm, sexual assault, deprivation of liberty and hostage-taking in connection to his work, according to a news release from the court in the western German city of Koblenz. The crimes were alleged to have taken place as he served as head of investigations at the notorious Branch 251 of Syria’s General Intelligence Directorate as the country slid towards civil war.
