The official Doctor Who Twitter account shared an adorable photo of the pair, who play the Doctor and companion Yaz Khan, holding up a clapperboard.
‘That’s a wrap! Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill have finished filming,’ the tweet read.
Absolutely no one can handle it, with one fan writing: ‘No cos the way people thought we were gonna get a trailer or something today and instead we got jodie and mandip leaving.’
‘Jodie and Mandip have wrapped up on Doctor Who!’ another wrote. ‘A huge thank you to both of them for being wonderful ambassadors, and for their lovely interactions with fans. It’s strange to think Jodie won’t be playing the Doctor anymore, but I’m looking forward to seeing her final stories.’
‘Congrats on finishing filming Jodie & Mandip, sad to know the end of the era has been filmed!’ one more said.
Jodie made her first appearance in the 2017 Christmas special and started her run properly in the series 11 episode The Woman Who Fell To Earth.
It was announced that she and showrunner Chris Chibnall will be leaving in 2022 after three specials, one of which will be to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the beloved sci-fi.
Jodie said at the time: ‘In 2017 I opened my glorious gift box of size 13 shoes. I could not have guessed the brilliant adventures, worlds and wonders I was to see in them. I will carry the Doctor and the lessons I’ve learnt forever.’
While the actor to play the 14th Doctor has not yet been announced, fans were stunned to hear that Russell T Davies, who brought Doctor Who back to screens in 2005, will return as showrunner.
Doctor Who series 13 begins on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on October 31.
